Introducing WyldLife – Young Life for Middle Schoolers
Sioux Falls Young Life is excited to announce that we have begun Young Life for middle schoolers, called WyldLife! Over the past year, our staff and adult committee have been in conversation with Young Life families and community members, and we are confident that now is the time to bring Young Life to middle schools as we continue our high school vocation.
Middle school is a time when kids make important decisions about who they are and what they believe. WyldLife is a group of caring adults who seek to meet adolescents where they are at developmentally while building relationships during this sensitive time of their life. Our WyldLife leaders listen to these kids’ stories while honoring their God-given desire for a life of fun and purpose!
Right now, we spend time weekly at Memorial Middle School in Sioux Falls, and we continue to build out our team of adults who will come alongside our new young friends. We hope to raise $30,000 within the next year for WyldLife, and we will host informational nights in April and May. We plan to host a test club for middle schoolers on May 11!
Also coming up for Sioux Falls Young Life is our Summer Wilderness Trip. This July, six junior and senior girls plan to join their leader in a weeklong backpacking adventure! Some of these girls have participated in Young Life Camp before, others are regulars at our Monday night Clubs and Bible studies, but none of them are particularly Bear Grylls! Nonetheless, they have a great relationship with their leader, they have accepted her invitation for this unforgettable adventure, and they are excited to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus. Please keep these young women in your prayers as they embark on a great trip this summer!
